The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play their first game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June at home behind closed doors reports Prime Business Africa.
The Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Ghana at the 66,000 capacity Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja on March 29 which ultimately culminated in Nigeria failing to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after the Black Stars picked one of Africa’s five tickets on away goal rule.
The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has consequently imposed a fine on the country’s FA (Nigeria Football Federation) for not controlling the crowd who invaded the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja to destroy facilities and out the lives of the Ghanaians in danger.
