NESH Foundation Makes Case For N1tn SME Equity Funding At NASS

Nigeria Entrepreneurship Summit Honors (NESH) Foundation has taken the advocacy campaign drive for setting up of a N1 trillion equity funding scheme for SMEs in Nigeria by the Federal Government to the National Assembly.

A delegation comprising  NESH Foundation Founder, Mr Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Senate Minority Leader and Founder, Made-in-Aba Trade Fair, Abuja, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, took the campaign to NASS in a courtesy visit to the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, in his office at the National Assembly Complex.

The SMEs equity funding is to be managed by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

During the visit, Mr. Ugwu-Oju presented to the Senate President, the Communique issued at the end of the 5th NESH-NXT Annual Conference for Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs, which endorsed the proposed Fund.

The Federal Government had, in February 2021, announced a creation of N1 trillion infrastructure firm, which actualisation NESH is currently pushing.
