Russia-Ukraine Crisis: Nigeria Issues Alert On Six Countries

Foreign Affairs Ministry says all intending Nigerian nationals wishing to travel to Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Belarus, Hungary and Moldova should be on hold

Following  the war alert from western powers to its citizens to leave Poland, Belarus, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Moldova, Nigeria has ceased issuing visas to the those countries and advised  nationals to hold off travels until end of May 2022.

A memo sighted by Prime Business Africa and signed by one Esther Sunsuwa (Mrs) of the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, ”advised that all intending Nigerian nationals wishing to travel” to travel to those countries ”should be on hold until the month ending May , 2022, as their Embassy and the consulate have stopped issuance of Visa with immediate effect.”

The Ministry noted: ”Necessary to abide to the above, is the war alert from the  world power to its citizens to leave those countries within 48 hours.

”The fact is due to the unhealthy war alert that the world powers have given which may likely break out unforeseen war, without further notice;

”Also, Nigerians proceeding/intending to enter the above neighbouring named countries, between Russia and Ukraine should avoid such unbearable risk,”
