17 Movies For Coal City Festival Unveiled!

Festival celebrates originality of African cinematic expressions in a city believed to have birthed the popular Nollywood.

Organisers of the 2022 Coal City Film Festival has announced the final selection of films and documentaries that will be honoured at the event in March reports Prime Business Africa.

 

Coal City Film Festival celebrates the originality of African cinematic expressions in the city of Enugu that arguably gave birth to Nollywood.

 

The Festival is Okike Media initiative with the goal of serving as the gateway to the heart of tourist potentials of South East Nigeria.

 

The maiden edition of the awards took place in March 2021 with wide call of entries from local and international filmmakers.

 

The second edition of the awards will hold March 24 to 26, 2022 in Enugu and will have 17 Feature Films, 21 Short Films, Five Documentaries, Six Student/Experimental Films.

 

Uche Agbo is the Founder and Executive Director of the Coal City Film Festival while ace Nollywood actor Francis Onwochei is the Head, Industry Relations. Stephanie Osaghe is the Director of Business Strategy.

 

Below are the list of films and documentaries that will be awarded at the ceremony as disclosed by the organisers.

H.P. Lovecraft’s Witch House | Directed by Bobby Easley (USA)

 

November Tear | Directed by Nondo Richard (Uganda)

 

EAGLE WINGS | Directed by Paul Apel Papel (Nigeria)

 

STAIN | Directed by Mugisha Herbert Morris, Ninsiima Ronah (Uganda)

 

LAURIE | Directed by Okechukwu Oku (Nigeria)

 

The Academy | Directed by John Chuka (Nigeria)

 

HIGHER CRIME | Directed by Uduak-Obong Patrick (Nigeria)

 

Tara’s Diary | Directed by Charles Chinonso Okwuowulu (Nigeria)
