Aba Township Stadium is the venue for big rumble between Enyimba and Kano Pillars, two heavy weights who have unfortunately been struggling to thrill this season.

Both teams are far away from the top four where table toppers Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors and Ikorodu City are holding ground tenaciously going into this weekend clashes.

Kano Pillars are equally in the same boat with just a win in five matches, the Sai Masu Gida Boys have drawn two matches against Nasarawa and Bendel Insurance at home, lost to Plateau United and Heartland away and earned a win against Lobi Stars heading into today’s clash against Enyimba.

In another eye catching encounter, reigning champions, Rangers, who have since crashed out of  contention for title this season, as they currently sit 8th on the log with 46 points in 33 matches, welcome Lobi stars who are neck deep into relegation waters.

Lobi whose match hitherto billed for Sunday, was moved a day backwards, are yet to test a win in their last five matches, and head into today’s encounter against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu, fresh from a 2-0 loss to Kano Pillars.

Rangers on their part, lost three of their last five matches to Nasarawa, Plateau and Heartland, pulling a draw against Bendel Insurance, while earning a win against Kwara United.

All the four teams in action in Aba and Enugu respectively are seeking to return to winning ways, with intent to putting a smile on the faces of their fans, while attempting to better their standing on the log. The Third match on Saturday will see Kastina United host third placed Abia Warriors at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Kastina.

League leaders, Remo Stars, lead the pack of interesting fixtures line up for Sunday as they file out in a derby against Shooting Stars who were recently hammered by NPFL for security breach and who will be playing their remaining matches of the season behind closed doors.
