The airline said the decision was based on its prioritisation of safety over any other consideration in the business.

It added that the suspension would enable the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to have the opportunity to perform essential repairs on the runway.

“At Air Peace, we prioritise safety first over convenience. We believe that if flights are not operated into this aerodrome for the next few days, it will allow the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) the opportunity to perform the necessary repairs on the runway,” the airline stated.

It further clarified that henceforth, all flights scheduled into and out of Enugu will now be operated in and out of Asaba airports.

“We regret any inconvenience this change may have caused,” the airline added.
