Faithspiration Initiative returned to Opi-Agu Nsukka in Enugu State during the weekend for another round of charity outreach aimed at offering succour to people in need.
The outreach was in continuation of the Foundation’s 2025 Lenten Charity Mission, sequel to the Valentine’s Day Charity Mission that saw the group reaching out to Onitsha Federal Prison, Bro Adaka in Awada, the communities of Ode, Odomagwu, and Igbokenyi, as well as sick brothers and sisters in Bamenda, Cameroon recently. This involved provision of relief materials and financial interventions in specific cases, ensuring that urgent needs were addressed.

On why the Faithspiration team embarked on the Lenten charity outreach to Opi-Agu Nsuka, a statement by the Foundation said: “Opi-Agu Nsukka holds a special place in the heart of Faithspiration Initiative, as it was here that our charity mission first began in 2021. That year, our founder, Rev. Fr. George Adimike, built a befitting house for a poor widow who had previously lived in a dilapidated and uninhabitable structure. Since then, Opi-Agu Nsukka has remained a mission post for our work of love and service.”
“At the core of our mission is the principle of charity of presence before charity of presents. Before offering material gifts, we first extend the gift of presence—standing in solidarity with those we serve, sharing in their stories, and reaffirming our divine sonship and fraternity in Christ.
“This was once again evident in our visit as we not only brought material support but also words of hope, encouragement, and faith. The caritas Christi urget nos—the love of Christ compels us—to see in every person the face of Christ and to respond with the same love He has shown us,” it further stated.

Upon arrival, members of the Faithspiration team were warmly received by the community and the new parish priest, Rev. Fr. Paschal Nweke, who recently replaced Rev. Fr. Dennis Alumona. They expressed immense joy and gratitude for the gesture extended to the community by the foundation.

The group said that in keeping with its commitment to uplifting the less privileged, a bag of rice and N10,000 each was distributed to 50 families, regardless of their religious affiliation—Catholics, non-Catholics, and even those who identify as traditional religionists.
“This gesture underscores our belief that charity transcends all barriers and that love, as Christ taught, is for all people,” the group emphasised.
Also present during the outreach were Rev. Fr. Pharm. Evaristus Ebuka Ezeani and Rev. Fr. Valentine Obiagwu, who joined in sharing words of encouragement and solidarity.
“As we set our sights on further works of charity this Lenten season, we remain inspired by the words of Isaiah 58:7: “Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?” This call to selfless giving remains at the heart of Faithspiration Initiative’s mission,” the group added.
