Singer and actress, Selena Gomez, stirred reactions over a now deleted video she shared to her Instagram account on Monday, showing her sobbing about the deportation of Mexican people in the U.S.
In an emotional state, Gomez was barely audible as she said: “I just want to say that I’m sorry. All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

U.S. President, Donald Trump, who was sworn in on 20th January, has introduced a lot of changes to the country’s governance system. One of the Executive Orders Trump signed is on deportation of illegal immigrants in the United States. This action was one of his campaign promises in the last election.

Broadcaster, Piers Morgan, one of those who reacted to the Gomez’s video, tweeted “posting yourself weeping over illegal immigrant cr*minals being deported is a new level of absurd celebrity n*rcissism.”
Also a politician and activist, Valentina Gomez, tweeted: “I am not related to Selena Gomez. Deport all the illegals, even if they fake cry. I didn’t see her fake crying for the 300,000 missing children or hosting illegals in her mansions. Justin Bieber dodged a bullet.”

Senatorial candidate, Sam Parker tweeted “Selena Gomez picked illegals over America b/c she’s the 3rd gen descendent of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty. She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal g’parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?”. To this, Selena in her Instagram story replied “oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker Thanks for the laugh and the threat”
American hip-hop artist, Flavor Fav posted in support of Selena Gomez, “Team Selena Gomez. Again. That woman is always so brave to share her truth,,, and so many are quick to b*lly her.”
