The Anambra State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators responsible for the gruesome murder of three children in Nise, Awka South Local Government Area.
The children, belonging to a native doctor, were killed at their home and their bodies were later discovered in a parked Mercedes car within the compound.

According to police reports, the assailants scaled the fence of the residence late on Saturday. After carrying out the killings, they left the scene unnoticed. The children’s bodies were found the following day, leading to a delayed report to the authorities.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, noting that the investigation is ongoing. “We received the report on Sunday, and our operatives have since visited the scene. We are actively pursuing leads provided by local residents,” Ikenga stated.
Possible Motive Behind the Killings
While the exact reason for the attack remains unclear, local sources suggest a possible connection to a business dispute involving the children’s father. A resident, speaking anonymously, hinted at tensions between the native doctor and unidentified individuals.
“The father of the victims is known for having business disagreements. We can’t say for sure if these issues led to the tragic deaths, but it’s something the police are looking into,” the source revealed.
Community Reacts to the Incident
The tragic event has left the Nise community in shock. The father, who often left the children home alone while attending to his business, is currently not available for comment. Neighbors describe him as a young man in his early 30s, juggling roles as a native doctor and a businessman.

SP Ikenga assured the public that the police are committed to bringing the culprits to justice. “We are investigating whether this incident was a result of negligence or if there was a specific motive. The investigation is ongoing, and we will update the public once we have more details,” he said.
