Super Eagles and FC Nantes winger Moses Simon is on the verge of undergoing surgery and is expected to be out of action for at least two weeks.

Nantes Manager Antoine Kamboure confirmed the development adding that this is the best time for the former Levante ace to go under the knife so that he can recuperate without having to rush back into action.

“We are taking advantage of this period, with the short break coming up, for him to have this operation,” Kamboure explained before his team’s Coupe de France matchup against JA Drancy.

This season, Moses Simon has made a noteworthy impact on the team, accumulating four goals and providing five assists in 14 appearances, demonstrating his value to Nantes.

Nantes will tackle Drancy JA without Simon in Coupe de France opener on Saturday December 21.

Nantes have only managed to accumulate 14 points in 15 matches played this season and occupy 14th position in the 18-team French Ligue 1.

Simon joined Nantes from Levante initially on loan before signing a 4-year permanent deal with the club.  The Nigerian international has since extended the deal to until 2026.

Recall that Moses Simon, who made his debut for the senior national team in 2015 against Uganda, has scored nine goals for the Super Eagles in 72 appearances.
