Veteran Nollywood actor, Sir Pete Edochie, will be among creme dela creme of the society that will grace the much awaited premiere of Documentary on legendary folklorist, Gentleman Mike Ejeagha.
The event billed for December 20, at the GrenHauz Cinema, located at Enugu Mall by Independent Layout will offer opportunity for fans and lovers of the legendary nonagenarian to savour blow by blow account of his contribution not only to folklore music, but also to Igbo culture and tradition.

“We are looking at December 20th in Enugu for the premiere. We’ll be having Sir Pete Edochie as our Father of the day amongst many other dignitaries. It’s indeed a day to behold, and we invite all and Sundry to partner with us and support this project, “, he said
The documentary which took over two years to produce, according to him, aims at the honouring the folklorist whose kind of music dubbed ‘akuko ne egwu’ has been used to teach life lessons over the years.
“We hope to honour the legend as we look forward to playing this documentary at festivals worldwide and as many places as possible. We are also looking to distribute to digital platforms as well so that it can travel far and wide because of the great lessons to be learnt from it not only by the old but also by younger generation as well.”
The forthcoming premiere will provide opportunity to get more insight into the life of Gentleman Mike Ejeagha whose 41-year-old song, Gwo Gwo Gwo bounced back to limelight after skitmaker, Brain Jotter, recreated it on social media.

The Enugu state born folklorist, who has since received legion of appreciative visitors from far and wide, is looking forward to the Premiere which will be the icing on the cake in documenting his impactful life. Recall that Enugu state Governor, Peter Mbah, in September, visited Mike Ejeagha at his residence in Enugu, and during the inauguration of the newly constructed roads, he renamed the Abakpa Road after Ejeagha.
There are strong indications that the premiere will bring more accolades and fortune to Mike Ejeagha who often has been forced to shed tears of joy by some of his visitors who bring back nostalgic and pleasant memories by flawless rendition of some of his tunes
