1. Dangote, Marketers Reach Deal For Direct Supply, may Reduce Petrol Price
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has signed a deal with Dangote Petroleum Refinery to lift products directly in order to ensure the availability of petroleum to Nigerians at a cheaper rate.

2. NNPCL Stops Fuel Import, Buys from Dangote
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has stopped the importation of refined petroleum products and is now buying fuel from Dangote Petroleum Refinery and other local refineries.
This was disclosed by NNPCL’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, on Monday at the ongoing conference of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) in Lagos, themed ‘Resolving the Nigerian Energy Trilemma: Energy Security, Sustainable Growth and Affordability’.
3. Naira Depreciates to N1,681/$ at Official Market
The Nigerian naira depreciated on Monday at the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), where the currency is officially traded, to N1,681.42 per dollar from N1,678.87 per dollar last Friday, indicating N2.55 depreciation for the naira.
However, the naira appreciated to N1,730 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,740 per dollar last weekend.
4. Officers Protecting Foreign Hackers on Illegal Duty – IGP
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has said that police officers protecting the arrested foreign hackers were on an illegal duty.
On November 4, the Nigeria Police Force announced the arrest of 130 suspects which included 113 foreign nationals — 87 men and 26 women — mainly from China and Malaysia, as well as 17 Nigerian collaborators, who were linked to high-level cybercrimes, hacking, and activities threatening national security. However, after an investigation was conducted, it was discovered that that the foreigners enjoyed police protection before their arrest.
Reacting to the report, Egbetokun said on Monday at a workshop organised for the standardisation of criminal investigations, that the police officers had been arrested and were currently being detained.
5. Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, ex-govs Hail Bakare at 70
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on his 70th birthday on Monday.
The president, alongside governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, respectively praised Bakare for his spiritual leadership at the church over the years and his political vibrancy in Nigeria.
6. US Places $25,000 Bounty on Nigerian on Murder Trial
The United States of America has offered a $25,000 reward for anyone who could provide it with information that could facilitate the arrest of a Nigerian man identified as Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi, who is reportedly facing trial for the alleged murder of his child.
According to a statement credited to the Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal, Don Freeman, and obtained from the agency’s website on Monday, Olawusi has also been named among the 15 most wanted fugitives in the US.
7. Joshua Surpasses $200m Mark in Career Earnings
Anthony Joshua has surpassed the $200m mark in career earnings, making him one of the highest-earning boxers.
The former two-time heavyweight champion earned $75m from fights in 2024 alone, surpassing heavyweight rival Tyson Fury and rising star Gervonta Davis, placing him second only to Canelo Alvarez in yearly earnings.
8. Edo NLC Removes Olaye as Chairman
The Edo State chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), removed Comrade Odion Olaye as its state chairman on Monday evening.
Comrade Bernard Joman has immediately been appointed as the acting chairman of the union, pending when the national leadership of the NLC would conduct a fresh election in the state.
This development came as the administration of the state governor Godwin Obaseki, is coming to an end.
9. Child Abuse: Archbishop of Canterbury Asked to Resign
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has been asked to resign over his failure to ‘rigorously’ follow up on reports of alleged child abuse linked to the Church of England.
A report revealed that the Church of England covered up “horrific” and violent abuse of more than 100 children and young men by John Smyth QC, a British barrister, for decades.
10. EFCC Summons Foreigner, Guests over naira Spraying at wedding
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has summoned a Nigerien national identified as Ibrahim Mohammad, his family, and other guests, over alleged naira spraying at his wedding to Amina Babagana Zannah, in Kano.
This comes after a viral video showed individuals spraying naira notes at the event, which has drawn public attention and backlash as part of the agency’s ongoing campaign against currency abuse.
11. Ondo Guber: INEC Delivers Electoral Materials
Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has delivered ‘sensitive’ materials for the exercise.
The electoral materials were conveyed by the Nigeria Air Force to Akure, the state capital, Monday and was received by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
12. Value of Unsold Goods Surges to N1.24trn — MAN
Due to the declining purchasing power of consumers, value of unsold goods has risen by 357.6 per cent to N1.24 trillion in the second half of 2024 (H1’24) from N271 billion recorded in the same period last year (H1’23).

Niger Delta activist and social crusader, Oghenkaro Edor, has condemned attacks on the Executive Vice President (Upstream) of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mrs Eyesan Oritsemeyiwa.
In a statement at a meeting of concerned citizens and stakeholders in the Niger Delta project in Abuja on Monday, Edor described the attackers as ‘envy-mongers’, who do not appreciate the achievements and experiences of the Itsekiri-born administrator.
14. Oyebanji Swears in new Chief Justice
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has sworn in Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as the acting Chief Judge (CJ).
Ogunmoye replaces the late Chief Judge, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, who died on November 4.
15. No pay for workers without residents’ registration numbers – Kwara govt
Kwara State Government has said public sector workers without valid Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) number will not be paid their salaries or bonuses from this month.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Finance Dr. Hauwa Nuru said, “In line with the administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency in resource administration, a directive has since been issued mandating state employees, including those across the 16 local governments, to complete their KWSRRA registration.”

Human rights activist, Audu Bulama Bukarti, has said that members of the newly identified terrorist group, Lakurawa, have taken over the duties of traditional rulers in some communities in Kebbi State, serving now as mediators among locals.
He said this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Monday, stating that the group had been in Nigeria for six years, and “they are potentially dangerous.”

Former presidential spokesman, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has said he remains “a committed supporter of President Tinubu’s administration.”
In a statement on Monday, Okupe refuted reports that he said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration would come to an end if the North fielded former President Goodluck Jonathan against him in 2027. He described the reports as a clear “Manipulation, designed to misinform the public and sow discord.”
