US Election: I Can Only Lose If Democrats Cheat, Says Trump

Donald Trump, the Republican party’s nominee in the November 5 United States presidential election has expressed confidence in winning except the Democratic Party engages in cheating.

The former President stirred controversy during a recent rally in the swing state of Pennsylvania. He expressed regret about leaving the White House after he lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election and stated that he doesn’t mind if reporters are shot. These comments come amid polls showing him trailing in states like Iowa, which he won in both 2016 and 2020. Nationally, he remains in a tight race with Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and does not like it.

Trump claimed that the Democratic Party is cheating across the country, asserting that the only way he could lose the Tuesday election is if the Democrats engage in fraud. He lamented his departure from the White House in 2020, a loss he has still not accepted.

Pointing to the open space in the protective glass used for him since a gunman attempted to assassinate him in Pennsylvania last July and another one in August, Trump, who has consistently labeled the media as “fake news,” stated, “I have this piece of glass here. But all we have really over here is the fake news, right? And to get me, somebody would have to shoot through the fake news. And I don’t mind that so much. I don’t mind.”

In response to his remarks, a Trump campaign spokesman emphasized that the former president was merely referring to the press’s role in protecting him. “President Trump was stating that the media was in danger, in that they were protecting him and, therefore, were in great danger themselves,” Steven Cheung said in a statement. “There can be no other interpretation of what was said. He was actually looking out for their welfare, far more than his own!”

Trump also unleashed a barrage of attacks on Democrats, labeling them as “demonic” and claiming they are “fighting so hard to steal this damn thing.” He voiced concerns about potential tampering with voting machines, saying, “They spend all this money on machines, and they’re going to say we may take an extra 12 days to determine. And what do you think happens during that 12 days? What do you think happens?” The crowd responded with chants of “Cheating!”

Trump insisted that election results should be determined by 9, 10, or 11 o’clock on election night, calling the opposition “crooked people.”

With more than 76 million Americans having cast their votes during early voting, according to the University of Florida’s Election Lab, this figure approaches half of the total 160 million votes cast in the 2020 election, which saw the highest voter turnout in over a century. However, the total results of the race may not be known on election night.

To gain the White House, a candidate needs 270 electoral college votes. Trump won the electoral college votes in 2016 despite losing the popular votes by 3 million to Hilary Clinton. In 2020, he lost the electoral college votes to Joe Biden but claimed he was cheated. He is hoping to make a come back to the Whitehouse with this race.
