“Trump Can Bring Peace,” Says Local Imam
Addressing the crowd, Imam Belal Alzuhairi spoke about the group’s reasons for backing Trump, highlighting the urgent need for peace on a global scale. “The bloodshed has to stop all over the world, and I think that this man can make it happen,” Alzuhairi stated, as the crowd responded with applause. For these leaders, his approach to international conflict and domestic issues positions him as a favourable candidate.
Alzuhairi elaborated on Trump’s commitment to peace, stressing that recent global conflicts have caused immense suffering. “We need a leader who can work toward stopping wars, not igniting them. That is why we are endorsing Trump,” he said.
Immigration Policy as a Key Factor
Apart from his stance on global conflicts, his immigration policies were also a decisive factor in earning this endorsement.

The leaders believe in a well-regulated immigration system, pointing to Trump’s emphasis on border security and legal immigration pathways. “Anyone who wants to come to this country is welcome, but they have to do it through a legal pathway,” explained Alzuhairi.
These leaders conveyed that Trump’s immigration policies align with their vision of security and fairness for those seeking to start a new life in America. They see a controlled immigration system as a way to maintain stability within their communities while allowing for economic and cultural growth.
Optimism for Trump’s Vision of the Future
The leaders further expressed their optimism for Trump’s broader vision for America’s future, linking his policies to what they described as “peace and justice for all.”
Alzuhairi also added a spirited prediction, drawing cheers from the crowd: “Michiganders, I have two predictions for you for the next six months. First, the Detroit Lions will win the Super Bowl, and second, Donald J. Trump will be the 47th president of the United States of America.”
Support Grows Among Michigan’s Muslim Community
This endorsement follows a similar statement from Amer Ghalib, the mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan, which is the only Muslim-majority city in the United States. Ghalib’s support for Trump marked an unexpected alignment in Michigan’s Muslim community, further underscoring Trump’s influence across diverse voter groups.
For his supporters, this show of trust from the Michigan Muslim community reflects a broadening appeal as he continues his 2024 campaign efforts. With peace and immigration shaping their endorsement, the Muslim leaders of Michigan hope their support for Trump will help promote stability and progress both locally and globally.
