Joe Biden Reaffirms Support for Israel

President Joe Biden confirmed on Tuesday that the United States remains fully supportive of Israel following Iran’s ballistic missile attacks. “Make no mistake, the United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel,” Biden said during a press briefing at the White House.

According to Biden, the missile strikes from Iran were “defeated and ineffective.” He credited both Israeli and U.S. military forces for their defense capabilities, saying, “The attack appears to have been defeated and ineffective, and this is a testament to Israeli military capability and the U.S. military.”

Discussion with Israel’s Leadership

Biden shared that he was in continuous contact with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, during the missile strikes. When asked about the potential response towards Iran, Biden stated, “That’s in active discussion right now. That remains to be seen.”

Biden confirmed that further talks with Netanyahu were planned to determine the appropriate course of action. “I’ll be talking to him, and my message will depend on what we finally conclude is needed,” Biden said.

Next Steps in U.S.-Israel Cooperation

While the nature of the U.S. and Israeli response to the missile attack remains undecided, Biden assured reporters that strategic discussions are ongoing. “Our teams have been in close contact,” he said, emphasising the strong military alliance between the two countries.
