What to Expect at IATF2025

The IATF2025 is expected to draw over 35,000 visitors from more than 140 countries, along with 2,000 exhibitors showcasing goods and services from various industries.

The event, with its theme “Gateway to New Opportunities,” aims to capitalize on the potential of AfCFTA, which represents a market of over 1.4 billion people and a combined GDP of $3.5 trillion.

One of the key objectives of IATF2025 is to stimulate trade within Africa by connecting businesses, investors, and government officials under one roof.

With projected deals exceeding $44 billion, the event will feature a variety of activities, including the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme, exhibitions from African and international businesses, and the Africa Automotive Show.

“The IATF has already shown its effectiveness by facilitating over $100 billion in trade and investment deals since its inception,” Obasanjo added, emphasising the fair’s role in fostering deeper intra-African ties.

Algeria: A Strategic Host for IATF2025

As the host country, Algeria is positioned to play a strategic role in Africa’s trade ecosystem. Recognized as one of Africa’s most advanced economies, Algeria will serve as a key platform for businesses looking to tap into new trade opportunities across the continent and beyond.

The country’s participation is expected to boost the visibility of African businesses and promote the exchange of goods, services, and ideas.

In a statement from the event’s organisers, it was noted that Algeria’s strong infrastructure and trade policies will be critical in making IATF2025 a success.

“Algeria provides the ideal environment for businesses to explore new trade and investment avenues,” the statement read.

IATF2025 to Showcase African Diaspora Ties

In addition to trade and investment, IATF2025 will also emphasize the cultural and commercial connections between Africa and its global diaspora.

A dedicated IATF Diaspora Day will spotlight opportunities for diaspora communities to engage with African businesses, explore partnerships, and contribute to the continent’s development.

Chief Obasanjo reiterated that the fair is more than just a trade show. “IATF2025 is part of Africa’s larger economic strategy. It serves as a collaborative platform for driving shared aspirations for prosperity and stability, as envisioned by AfCFTA,” he remarked.

Driving Economic Integration Through IATF2025

As Africa continues its push for economic integration through AfCFTA, the IATF2025 is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing the continent’s resilience.

By creating a space where African businesses can connect with global investors, the fair aims to open doors to new opportunities, drive growth, and strengthen the continent’s economy.

“Previous editions of IATF have successfully generated interest and partnerships, and IATF2025 will build on this success. We are confident that it will foster even stronger intra-African trade relations,” Obasanjo stated, urging African businesses to seize the opportunity to expand their market reach.

With a week of exhibitions, networking events, and cultural showcases, IATF2025 promises to be a landmark event in Africa’s journey toward economic integration and growth.

This fair will serve as a critical platform for businesses across the continent and beyond to explore new opportunities in the ever-expanding African market.

The IATF2025 is expected to be a significant step toward fulfilling Africa’s trade potential, as it brings together diverse industries, governments, and investors under the theme “Gateway to New Opportunities.”

Through strategic partnerships, cultural connections, and a focus on growth, the fair will push the continent further toward economic unity and resilience.
