Rangers achieved the feat after they played a 1-1 draw at home against US Zilimahjou of Comoros in Uyo on Friday, August 23. The draw earned the NPFL champions a 2-1 aggregate victory over their visitors who adopted Uyo as their home ground.

It was not until the 79th minute that Rangers’ Augustine Kenechukwu delivered for the Coal City-based side, converting a penalty after Ekeson Okorie was brought down inside the penalty box.

The celebration did not however last for long as the visitors levelled up six minutes later, making way for a ding-dong affair that failed to produce an additional goal for either side.

Rangers thus progressed on 3-2 aggregate over two legs all played at the Nest of Champions in Uyo.
