ANAMBRA State Governor, Willie Obiano, has approved Thursday, November 4 and Friday, November 5 as work-free days to ensure that voters move to their communities to vote in Saturday’s governorship election.
This was disclosed by the Office of the Head of Service and dated November 2, 2021.

A communique to this effect was issued and signed by Harry Udu, Head of Service Anambra State and copied to the offices of The Deputy governor of Anambra State as well as the Honourable Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, The Chief of Staff, all Honourable Commissioners and other key government officials.
“His Excellency, Chief Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano has graciously approved Thursday 4th and Friday 5th November 2021 as work-free days to enable civil servants in Anambra State travel to their respective communities to cast their votes on Saturday 6th November 2021,” the memo read.
“All public servants are accordingly advised to use the opportunity to perform their civic duty of voting and wisely too, during the gubernatorial election in the state.
“Kindly disseminate this information widely,” the statement urged civil servants.
The Governorship aspirants in Saturday’s poll in the last one week have participated in various debates, including the October 30 special edition of the Socio-economic and Entrepreneurship Development Series (SEEDS) debate organised by Prime Business Africa where the candidates let the citizens into what their governance architecture would be if elected on Saturday.
