Rasheedat Ajibade Is Athletico Madrid Player Of The Season

Super Falcons winger, Rasheedat Ajibade, has been named winner of the 2023-2024 Atletico Madrid Femmine’s Player of the Season.

Ajibade who joined Athletico in 2021 from Norwegian club, Avaldnes, did not only become an instant hit but has established herself as a must play in the club.

The former FC Robo forward scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists for the Spanish side this season.

This is the first time in her career in Europe, that she ended a season as her club’s best player. Rasheedat Ajibade, who has been impressive in all Super Falcons campaigns, is one of the players expected to make the team thick as Nigeria aims to fly high at the Paris Olympics.

Super Falcons broke a 16 years jinx to qualify for this year’s Olympics at the expense of hard fighting Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

Falcons had beaten the South African ladies by a lone goal at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja and then held their hosts to a goalless draw in Pretoria to progress. The Last time Falcons were at the Olympics was in 2008 in Beijing, China.

Falcons will fly Africa’s flag at the female football event of the Olympics alongside Cooper Queens of Zambia.
