The Eagles are walking on a tight rope after a draw against South Africa saw them moving down the ladder in Group C currently being led by Lesotho with five points while Rwanda, Benin and South Africa follow closely with four points each leaving Nigeria and Zimbabwe leading from behind.

June 10: Why Super Eagles Must Be Careful Against Gernot Rohr

A convincing victory is a must for the Eagles if they hope to avoid going the way of the last World Cup qualifier where they failed to make the party after losing a two legged play-off against Black Stars of Ghana in Accra and Abuja respectively.

Nigeria against Benin Republic will not be the only match on the table today. In matches from other Groups, Somalia will face Botswana, Equatorial Guinea will trade tackles with Flames of Malawi, Guinea Bissau host Pharaohs of Egypt, while Ghana host Centra African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Black Stars who stopped Nigeria from going to the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 are looking good so far in their qualifiers with six points in the kitty same with table toppers of their group Madagascar and Comoros.

There are already strong predictions that the Black Stars will clinch the three points at stake today in Kumasi even as they have been warned by some of their fans to avoid treating The Wild Beasts of Central African Republic with kid gloves.
