The Falconets have been regular customers of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, qualifying for every edition of the tournament since its inception in 2002. The team have been runners-up twice, losing to Germany on both occasions in 2010 and 2014. They have also reached the quarterfinals, five times, hitting the exit doors in the group stage only twice at the maiden edition 2002 in Canada and the 2016 edition in Papua New Guinea.

Coach of the side, Christopher Danjuma, insists that his team fears no foes and is ready to battle for honours in the Colombia capital when the championship begins.

“We have no fear about any of the teams in the finals. Any team can be in our group. We know that to be the best, we have to beat the best,” said Danjuma, who took the team to the quarter-finals of the last edition in Costa Rica.
