Deadly traffic accidents like this are unfortunately common in China, where safety standards are often lax, and drivers tend to drive recklessly. According to Chinese state media, accidents occur frequently in the region, sparking concerns about public safety on the roads.
A similar incident happened earlier this month when a school bus tragically ploughed into a group of parents and students outside a middle school in eastern China’s Tai’an City in Shandong province. The crash killed 11 people, including children. State broadcaster CCTV reported that the driver “lost control” as they approached the school, though further details have not been released.

The Lusong Bridge crash is the latest in a series of fatal traffic incidents in China. Investigators are working to determine whether road conditions, vehicle malfunction, or driver error contributed to the deadly crash. Authorities have urged drivers across China to exercise caution and follow traffic rules to prevent further tragedies. As one police officer explained, “The loss of life in these accidents is preventable, and we need stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to protect everyone on the roads.”
The ongoing investigation may lead to further information regarding safety improvements in the region. Families of the victims are calling for answers as authorities continue to probe the crash.
