The film features Sandra Hüller, known for her role in “Anatomy of a Fall,” portraying Hedwig Hoss, alongside Christian Friedel as Rudolf Höss, the Auschwitz death camp commandant. Glazer, accompanied by producer James Wilson, broke tradition as he addressed the audience alone.
He emphasized that “The Zone of Interest” is not merely a historical piece but a reflection on contemporary issues, particularly the consequences of dehumanization.
Glazer drew parallels between the film’s themes and the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, denouncing the exploitation of Jewish identity and the Holocaust to justify violence and oppression.
