2024 Globe Soccer Awards: Ronaldo Makes History In Middle East

Portugal international and Al Nassr forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, emerged best player in the Middle East on Friday at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards ceremony held in Dubai.

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr from Manchester United in 2003, has practically been on target in every match for the team.

Reacting to the award, an elated Ronaldo thanked his family, staff of the club and teammates for their support which earned him the award. Taking to his X he said “A great way to end the year. Thank you to my teammates, staff, to everyone who has supported me along the way, and especially to my family. There is still more to come!”

It is the second time, the Al Nassr forward has claimed the Best Middle Eastern player award after claiming it back in 2023.

Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, was equally honoured with career-recognition award tagged “The greatest president of all time”.

Former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand alongside Alessandro Del Piero, Neymar, and Thibaut Courtois were also given lifetime achievement awards.

It was equally a night for Real Madrid and members of the team as the club’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti was named Best Coach.  His player, Vinicius Junior, was named Best Men’s Player of the Year, while Jude Bellingham won the Best Midfielder award.
